Weather

Benidorm is fortunate to have a mild climate all year round. This is due to a unique micro climate created  by the surrounding hills. These also protect the city from the winds.

Generally there is about 6 hours of sunshine per day in the winter rising to 12 hours in the summer. The summer sun can be extremely powerful and care should be taken when sunbathing to use appropriate protection. The red lobster look is not great in the club later that night.

August is the warmest month of the year, when temperatures soar. This is the month when a great number of local business take their holidays because of the great heat, but this does not generally apply to any business that support the tourist industry.

At the other extreme of weather is the Gota Friá, which are extreme rain storms which tend to only occur over a two week period in October or November.

Benidorm's favourable weather conditions makes it one of the healthiest places in Europe to live. With the high concentration of iodine in the air, Benidorm is one of the best places to visit when asthmatic or rheumatic.
